Jobs Creation and Recovery Tax Credit Governor O'Malley signed a Jobs Creation and Recovery Tax Credit, which offers Maryland businesses a $5,000 tax credit for every unemployed Marylander hired, effective March 25, 2010 to December 31, 2010.
To claim the Job Creation Tax Credit, employers must receive certification from the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (DLLR) that their hires meet basic eligibility requirements. The Maryland resident must be an Unemployment Insurance (UI) claimant or someone who has exhausted their UI benefits. You can find these claimants by contacting your local One-Stop Career Center. Some UI claimants may also have registered with the Maryland Workforce Exchange. If you have eligible employees you have hired on or after March 25, click here to file online – all applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
If you have any questions about the program, please contact Business Consultant Kathy Anderson at the Carroll County Business & Employment Resource Center by calling 410-386-2820.

To learn more about Maryland’s support for the creation and growth of innovative Cyber Security technologies attend the Carroll Technology Council’s May 13th meeting where Adam Suri, DBED Director of Operations, Division of Business and Enterprise Development, will share some of the program and resource information highlighted in the report.
