The Strouse Corporation CEO Selected for Honor

The U.S. Small Business Administration has named Sue Chambers, President & CEO of The Strouse Corporation as the “2010 Maryland Entrepreneurial Success of the Year”.  Ms. Chambers was nominated for the award by Carroll County Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Senior Counselor Beth Woodring.

Director of Economic Development Lawrence Twele said, “Ms. Chamber’s leadership has helped The Strouse Corporation achieve a global reputation for technical excellence by articulating a clear corporate vision, building a skilled workforce and achieving engineering superiority in the production of pressure sensitive materials. This recognition is well deserved.”

Honorees will be recognized at the 2010 Maryland Small Business Week Awards Program during a May 21st breakfast at Martin’s West in Woodlawn.

Energy Expo to be Held

Sustainable Carroll, Carroll Community College and the Carroll County Times are sponsoring an Energy Expo on Saturday, April 24th, from 9am to 1pm.

Many businesses continue to struggle financially and are now facing high utility bills associated with the brutal winter weather. The Expo is an opportunity for commercial (and residential) customers to speak first-hand with energy suppliers to learn how to save money on their energy bill and discuss pricing based on specific needs. The expo will feature seminars on topics such as the benefits of energy choice and how to select a new supplier.

The conference will be held in Building K Conference Center <map> at the main campus at 1601 Washington Road.
