Carroll Technology Companies Recognized for Fast Growth

CEO’s from America’s Remote Help Desk (ARHD) and Skyline Network Engineering were recognized at the Baltimore SmartCEO FUTURE 50 dinner in Baltimore on January 8th.

For the second consecutive year, ARHD has achieved over 20% growth in revenues and number of employees by focusing on core services of 24x7 live remote help desk support, hosted infrastructure solutions and network consulting services. CEO Rich Rubinstein (pictured right center w/ Larry Twele & Denise Beaver of C.C. Econ. Dev.) continues to position ARHD to offer new and innovative services to clients and challenges employees to provide the best possible customer service.

Skyline Network Engineering CEO Brian Holsonbake (pictured left center) was recognized as part of the FUTURE 50 for the first time this year. Skyline specializes in designing, installing and maintaining a wide range of network, telecommunication and security systems. As the Project Management & Network Operations management firm for the Carroll County Public Network, Skyline realized a significant increase in revenue and employees and parlayed their statewide connections to expand their scope of influence on IT infrastructure across the State.

Congratulations to both Rich Rubinstein and Brian Holsonbake on this special recognition.

Small Business Administration (SBA) Reaches Out to Business Community

The SBA offers free online training courses on "Surviving in a Down Economy" and "Strategic Marketing: How to Win Customers in a Slowing Economy," and "Retool & Reposition your company - How to Prepare a Business Plan." These courses are available at  http://www.sba.gov/services/training/onlinecourses/index.html

Locally, the SBDC, which is funded in part by the SBA, offers both training and counseling services to small businesses. SBDC counselors are available to meet one on one with business owners to address issues such as marketing, financing and business planning. Although not a direct funding source, the SBDC is available to work with clients to prepare loan packages for clients seeking funding. In addition to the online resources of the SBA, the Carroll SBDC regularly posts articles of interest to business owners on a variety of topics including "Improving Your Credit Score" and "Credit Where Credit is Due". Visit the Carroll County SBDC website to access training information, templates, articles and links to online resources.
