Business Awards Dinner
On behalf of the Board of Carroll County Commissioners, the Department
of Economic Development will recognize distinguished businesses
during the 2008 Carroll County Business Awards Dinner program on November 20th at the Portico of St. John.
Local broadcaster, Jeff Salkin
will be the keynote speaker following the dinner. Since 1992, Mr.
Salkin has hosted programs for Maryland Public Television including
“Your Money and Business,” produced each week with
the Baltimore Sun and the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the
University of Maryland.
Director
of Economic Development Larry Twele said, “Recognizing and
celebrating the success of our growing businesses is always a pleasure.
We certainly hope that the business community will help us applaud our
award winners’ efforts and investment in Carroll
County.”

at the University of Maryland. The program, held in partnership with
Maryland Technology Extension Service and the U. S. Dept. of Commerce
Manufacturing Extension Partnership, highlighted a scientific method

Business Appreciation Week
Ambassadors visited nearly 30 companies during the 2008 Business Appreciation Week held Oct. 6th - 10th. “It was exciting and rewarding to visit and thank our existing businesses for the substantial contributions that they make to our local economy. There are great things
happening in Carroll County”, stated Director of Economic Development Larry Twele. Staff will follow up on specific company requests and general business climate feedback will be incorporated
