Connecting Business & Education
Economic Development is hosting a Business & Education Get Together event on Friday, September 12th to introduce employers to the Carroll County Public Schools Career Coordinators
and local college advisors. Representatives from McDaniel College, Carroll Community College and area high schools will be on hand to answer questions about setting up student internships.
Barbara
Biller, President of Intellitech, Inc. and a member of the Economic
Development Commission’s workforce committee was influential
in getting the event established. “Intellitech has
experienced wonderful success in working with the Career &
Technology Center to place student interns in our business. I know many
of my colleagues could benefit from this type of partnership as a way
to find new talent. It is often just a matter of knowing the right
person to contact to get it set up” she said.
The Business & Education Get Together
will be held at the Economic Development office at 225 N. Center Street
in Westminster on Sept. 12th from 8:30 – 10:00 am. If you are
an employer interested in learning more about student internships,
please call Bonnie Staub at 410-386-2070 to attend.
Achievement Counts Speakers Bureau

Volunteer speakers are asked to make four 45-minute classroom presentations in area schools during October/November/December. To prepare for the talks, speakers attend a 3-hour training session in September (Carroll’s speaker training date is Sept. 9th). Speakers then select the schools, dates and times that are convenient to them.
The next generation looks to you for guidance and direction. Don’t miss this opportunity to help shape your future workforce.
