Westminster manufacturer The Strouse Corporation has been awarded a contract by The McCormick Spice Company to produce die cut aluminum sealing material for a new product line set to be introduced early in 2010.
McCormick’s new Recipe Inspirations™ combines a recipe card with
the correct type and amount of fresh spices to successfully prepare one of six entrée varieties. The chef would provide the meat, pasta or sauces to complete the meal.
The Strouse Corporation will supply McCormick with the sealing membrane of each ingredient’s blister pack. Printed with the spices’ name and quantity, the die cut aluminum film will precisely seal sixteen single-spice packages. Each package will then be separated and attached to a product card that contains a recipe and the other herbs and spices for a main dish.
McCormick sought a company with a solid reputation as a precision rotary die cutter and printer for the twenty-six spice varieties of the Recipe Inspirations™ product line. Strouse’s expertise in this field and its close proximity to McCormick forged an engaging business alliance.
With a close working relationship, Strouse is able to accommodate any changes in McCormick’s production schedule by quickly gearing to the spice that is currently being produced. Additionally, Engineers at Strouse were able to reduce costs by designing the preformed lidding film to a larger quantity of blister packs per sheet and recycle/re-use 30% of the packaging material.
The Strouse Corporation, located in Westminster, Maryland, is a certified woman-owned business and a 3M Preferred Converter and Master Masking Converter. Strouse supplies die cut adhesive components for the Solar, Electronics, Automotive, Defense, Medical and Appliance industries.
