Construction on Fourth Commerce Center Building Begins

Construction has begun on the fourth building at the Carroll County Commerce Center, a 32-acre business park in Westminster.  The new project is a 30,000 square foot single-story brick and glass building and is expected to be completed in the fall of 2008.  The Commerce Center, when built-out, will include approximately 200,000 square feet of office, warehouse and flex space.

The business park, located at the corner of MD 97 and MD 140 currently features three buildings containing about 96,000 square feet of space.  The Commerce Center is presently 100% leased and includes tenants such as Carleton Technologies, Carroll County Chamber of Commerce and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Owner and developer Robert Rosen has selected NAI KLNB to exclusively handle the leasing activities for the park.  Walter Patton and Mike Mull of NAI KLNB will oversee and manage the project.

“Carroll County is increasingly becoming the county of choice for businesses who seek convenient access to the central Maryland region, but are also interested in a less hectic lifestyle and simpler commute to home and work,” said Lawrence Twele, Director of the Carroll County Department of Economic Development.  “This park represents the high-quality environment that gives employers that choice.”

Three more buildings, including a two-story office project, are planned after the completion of the latest structure.  Construction on the additional buildings will begin pending the pace of leasing activities.
